| dc.description.abstract | Periconia igniaria, isolated as an endophytic fungus from roots of Cheilocostus speciosus from Calangute, Bardez, Goa, India was described in this manuscript. The identity of the endophytic isolate was based on asexual-morphs, cultural characteristics and phylogenetic analyses of internal transcribed spacer rDNA sequence data. To our knowledge, this is the first report of this taxon as root endophyte of Cheilocostus speciosus from Western Ghats forests, Goa, India. | |
